Celebrating 15 Years of The Alchemy Company
I remember reassuring my husband that quitting my job was going to be ok. But let's be honest, I was mostly convincing myself. I had never had a true sales job, I don't like leaving my house and talking to people gives me anxiety. What could go wrong, right?
The good news is, I was a REALLY good transaction coordinator, dare I say the best, with the the skillset needed to excel in that niche. Also, I was DETERMINED! Determined to succeed, but mostly determined to bring an elevated service to the marketplace that I knew from experience was not available. A few introductions and opportunities later, and I was off to the races. Every day a coop agent was reaching out asking if I could work with them; telling me that they had never worked with a TC who was handling files the way I was. Turns out, if you bring a product or service to the market that the market has been starved of; sales skills aren't needed. What is needed is a servant heart and mind coupled with a fervent desire to offer a service that improves the overall experience of the largest investment individuals make in their lifetimes.
In short, here we are 15 years later still offering extraordinary service. Having blazed a trail for what a thriving transaction brokerage can look like, I am very happy to be celebrating this milestone with every client who has believed in us, every associate who has raved about us, and every TC who has put their trust in me.
I am closing with the utmost gratitude and thankfulness.
Warmest regards,
Anna
15 Things I’ve Learned in the Past 15 Years
1. Always correspond professionally.
2. Always check the address and repair items on the termite clearance to ensure they match the report before sending to anyone.
3. Before filing any document, double check the address to confirm it is for your property.
4. Template everything and make sure your template addresses absolutely everything. It's much easier to remove what you don't need versus trying to remember what to add.
5. Have at least 2 checks and balances on your files (I prefer 4).
6. Type the email and then absolutely delete it. Hitting send is never worth it.
7. Don't expect expert pay at the beginning of your career. Your fee should align with your knowledge.
8. Never add the email address until your email is complete, reviewed and 100% ready to send.
9. Taking an extra 10 minutes on the front end will save you an hour of scrambling on the back.
10. Let snark and rudeness roll off your shoulders.
11. Don't cut corners. It will always cost you time and stress.
12. Transactions are smoother when all parties work together.
13. When hiring, make the process grueling. It's worth your time.
14. Plan on investing a minimum of a year of training on anyone you bring onto your team. This business takes a long time to get good at.
15. Be kind, take the high road and let them!
